Previous Projects
2018-2019
We began the year with a massive identity project that had students asking the questions, "Who am I" and "Who are You?" Highlights of the project included:
-Reading Seedfolks and creating a mini classroom garden
-Reading 3 Cups of Tea and having "Tea Parties" where students really dug into one another and learned a lot about who we are
-Object Presentations
-Writing biographies
-Creating a 12 foot double helix that actually spun and had drawn portraits of each student
For the second semester, students learned about Reminiscent Therapy and paired with a local retirement home that housed individuals suffering from Alzheimer's and dementia. Students practiced this form of therapy by sitting with clients and talking with them about their past. The stories were collected, written, and then turned into animated shorts that were displayed in our 1950's style cafe (aka the classroom)
